School Garden Update:
The school gardens are up and running! The 1st graders transplanted little baby lettuce plants this week which will grow over the next month into big lettuce heads. They had a great time carefully handling the plants and figuring out where to plant them. In about a month the second grade will harvest the lettuce to be eaten in the school cafeteria!
We are looking for more volunteers to help in the garden! Garden volunteers can:
  • help get the beds ready for seed planting once the lettuce has been harvested,
  • help with the grade level lessons in the garden,
  • sign up for a week of garden monitoring over the summer,
  • help with the farmer's market booth in the fall,
  • and more!
It's a great way to help out at the school, be with kids and be outside all at once! If you're interested, please email Sarah Reed at

Parent Teacher Conferences are February 6, 8 & 15.  Conference sign ups closed on January 31st.  If you haven't scheduled your conference or if you need to change your conference, please contact your teacher directly.
