In second grade students become more independent learners!
Highlights include the exploration of Louisville history, scientific observations of insect lifecycles, studying India and China and learning triple-digit addition and subtraction. They learn through real-world experiences such as writing personal narratives of the life of a coal miner or a child in the 1920's and earning rupees that they later use at an Indian Bazaar. Second graders are also supported in their social-emotional growth through a study of conflict resolution. Our second grade teachers help students "create personal and academic goals which pave the path to independent learning and lifelong achievement."
