My name is Anna Villachica. I am an artist, a mom and a teacher.  I love animals, nature, languages, travel and gardening.  I decided to become an artist when I was eight years old.  I began my artistic journey drawing animals.  Later, I moved into painting, sculpture and have just kept on learning all kinds of different art forms.  Most recently, I have learned how to do encaustic, welding and printmaking.  

I became an Art teacher to teach kids how to express themselves visually.  I like to introduce kids to new materials, new methods and new artists and let them explore.  My end goal is to show kids that art is a way to communicate your ideas, thoughts and feelings.  I want kids to be responsible artists and have a lifelong love of art.

Artsonia

I wanted to introduce an online platform that I will be using to keep digital portfolios of student artwork and you will be able to see as well.  You can even download the Artsonia app on your phone!  All new parents will be receiving an email from ARTSONIA.COM soon.  Please check your junk email.

I am using ARTSONIA because:

1. It keeps student artwork from K-5 in one place in a secure online gallery.

2. You can order products (cups, t-shirts, keychains, etc.) with student artwork any time of year.

3. You can choose different artworks you want on products.

4. It is a fundraiser for art supplies at LES!!!!

Every time I take a picture of student artwork, ARTSONIA.COM will send you an email with your student’s artwork.  It’s pretty cool.
